If you were to meet me a few years ago, you would not believe I could have competed in a figure or fitness competition and be in the best shape of my life! For over ten years, I was heavily addicted to drugs…. everything from alcohol and ecstasy, to painkillers and cocaine. I depended on these drugs to survive…no one believes this is the NEW ME!
Instead of feeding my body with healthy food and exercise, I depended on these chemical substances to survive. Exercise, healthy eating, and sleep did not have a place in my life back then. And I was emotionally, spiritually, and physically dying. I decided to get sober two years ago and after trying for months on my own to get fit, I had gained a ton of weight and was heavier than I had ever been in my life. All it took was seeing a poster with Tiffany’s photo saying. “Train to be a fitness competitor or Just Look Like one!” and I thought to myself, “well, I want to look like one.”
After only a couple months of working with BODY Statement, I started to build up my confidence . Each session taught me something I could take into other areas of my life, including my nursing job, my dj career, and most importantly my relationship with my husband and family.
I have gained so much more than a good body from all this. This past year has been filled with a lot of hard work, dedication, long hours at the gym and whining. My husband can attest to that. I am living proof, that if you really want to make a change and want something different for your life, you can have it.
